A sweet-tongued young lady is pretending to be the well-known Univen FM news presenter, Rhulani Rebecca Maluleke (21).

The lady, who bears a resemblance to the real Rhulani, moves around the Thohoyandou area, exchanging love vows with different men while telling them she presents Xitsonga news and current affairs on Univen FM. There are also allegations that the lady has robbed the gentlemen of their hard-earned cash and valuables, while pretending to be the famous presenter.

The deeply concerned presenter says she is now afraid that her life might be in danger, following the incidents.

"I have not known peaceful sleep for the past two weeks and my heart is bleeding with pain. How can one think of such evil things? The whole thing is denting my good image and it is destroying my life. I have always been faithful to everyone, but look now, someone is moving around pretending to be me, while destroying my good name."

Rhulani says she was surprised when her friends approached her and told her the bad news two weeks ago. "I heard that the lady had collected some money and valuables from a chain of her boyfriends. What about if they come to my work place and demand their things from me? I believe my life is no longer safe because of this person. I have personally never come across with her, but I believe that one day we will meet."

Rhulani says she wants people to be aware that the woman is still doing her dirty tricks around Thohoyandou. "I want everyone to be aware of this lady because what she is doing is unacceptable. This is making my life more miserable and I am worried that, one day, I will have to pay for something I did not do."

She added that the rumors have also spread to her home village of Nkuri, outside Giyani. "Everyone is aware of this lady, but I know that one day she will have to account for what she is doing."

Supt Ailwei Mushavhanamadi of the Limpopo police said police have not yet received a formal complaint from Rhulani. "We will investigate the matter as soon as we receive a formal complaint from concerned community members."
