"Our love is over. Full stop." This is the reaction of an angry man, Nkumbuleni Mulaisi (43) of Makonde village, towards his wife, Grace Mulaisi Mathabi, a nurse at Donald Fraser Hospital.
Last week, Mirror carried a story about the desperate Nkhumbuleni who could not sleep after his wife disappeared at the Thohoyandou Shopping Centre two weeks ago. They went to Thohoyandou to buy groceries, but his wife disappeared in town.
After tip-offs from community members, Nkhumbuleni traveled to Zimbabwe where he found his wife relaxing with another man! Nkhumbuleni says he had to travel to Zimbabwe to follow his wife because she left with R10 850. 00 in cash that belongs to the family.
"I had to know exactly where she was, because some people were suspecting me of either kidnapping her or selling her to robbers. I wanted to prove my innocence in this worrying situation."
The worried and disappointed man explains his long journey to Zimbabwe: "I heard from reliable sources that my wife was having an affair with a Zimbabwean man and there were people who saw them when they were on their way to Zimbabwe. I took a bus to Zimbabwe on Thursday last week although I have never been to that country."
Nkhumbuleni says he requested the address from his sources to the place where his wife was. "I heard she was in a place called Gutu and I took a bus from Beitbridge, via Masvingo to Gutu. I went straight to Gutu and found my wife relaxing with another man. I nearly fainted but I gathered enough courage and entered the homestead. I greeted them in Shona and said "Mangwanani" and immediately left the place. I only wanted them to see me and show them that the world is a very small place to hide."
Nkhumbuleni did not only lose his wife, but he also lost his job. "I was supposed to go back to Gauteng two weeks ago, where I work as an engineer, but I had to stay behind because of this problem. My employers have dismissed me, because I stayed too long without reporting for work, while looking for my missing wife."
He says the relationship with his wife is over and he will never accept her when she comes back from Zimbabwe. "I don’t want her anymore. Our love is over. That is all! Finish and klaar!"
The missing wife, Grace, was not available for comment, because she was still in Zimbabwe at the time of going to press.
