“Dirty pic” farmer in court

News  Date: 16 March 2007

Curious onlookers waited anxiously at the Levubu Periodical Court to have a glance at a 44-year-old farmer who had allegedly smeared a 24-year-old security guard’s private parts with an unknown substance last week.

According to a police report, the farmer allegedly lured the security guard into the bushes after promising him that he would give him R5 000 if he allowed the farmer to take his picture while being naked. The farmer then allegedly fondled the security guard’s penis and smeared it with a substance that made it erect for days.

Police spokesman for the Limpopo Province Superintendent Ailwei Mushavhanamadi told Mirror that the incident occurred on Friday at around 08:45 in the Levubu area

"The suspect approached the victim with the understanding that he intended to take photographs while he (the victim) was naked, in return for a payment of R5 000.

"The two (suspect and victim) then went to a nearby bush area where the suspect produced two bottles containing some substance," he said. Mushavhanamadi said the suspect then smeared the victim’s private parts with the substance, resulting in the man’s penis instantly becoming rigid.

"Soon after the victim was smeared with the substance, his penis became unusually erect for an indefinite period. He then reported the matter to the police leading to the arrest of the suspect, whom we suspect is part of a European syndicate involved in taking nude pictures," said the police spokesman.

Magistrate Tuwani Netshifhefhe postponed the matter to 23 March for further investigations and to allow the farmer to seek legal assistance. The case will be heard in the Makhado Magistrate’s court.

Onlookers expected the farmer to come out from the holding cells because it was his first appearance. To everyone’s surprise, the farmer came from home while wearing black trousers, a white shirt, black shoes and a black tie. It later emerged that the farmer was out on a warning before his first appearance, a move that angered community members.
