Renowned and beloved Mr Maganlal Manjee Premjee (86) passed away peacefully on Monday, March 12, after a short illness.

"There is a saying: ‘When you arrive on this earth, the whole world laughs and rejoices whilst you are crying. Do such deeds in your lifetime so that when you leave the earth, the whole world is crying and you are laughing," writes the family.

Mr Maganlal Premjee arrived in Louis Trichardt in 1933 from Pretoria and commenced a business in September 1942. That business is still trading presently as M. Premjee & Son and is well-known in the region. Mr Premjee was a pioneer in the Indian community, serving as the chairman of the Louis Trichardt Indian Association, the management committee as well as the Louis Trichardt Hindu Seva Samaj.

The Premjee family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to all who have supported them during this trying time, thanking all for their kind words, condolences and concern towards the family.

"Ralph Waldo Emerson said that death comes to all, but great achievements build a monument which shall endure until the sun grows cold."
