Man stabbed to death along N1

A 46-year-old man was brutally stabbed to death by an unknown attacker in the park at the N1/Rissik Street crossing on Tuesday, March 20.

According to Capt Mashudu Malelo, area spokesperson for the police in Thohoyandou, the deceased was walking through the park with a female companion, who was a friend of his.

As they approached Eltivillas, an unknown man jumped out of the bushes and stabbed him in his chest. Both the woman and the deceased starting running away, but the man collapsed and died shortly afterwards. At that stage, the woman’s screams alerted members of the public who rushed to help her.

Capt Malelo appealed to members of the public to come forward with any information that might help apprehend the killer. He said the motive for the killing is unclear.
