Police in Musina have opened an inquest, following the discovery of the remains of a suspected illegal immigrant from Zimbabwe at a farm outside Musina.
SAPS police spokesman in Limpopo Province Supt Ailwei Mushavhanamadi told Mirror that the bones were discovered by farm workers on Saturday afternoon before they reported the matter to the police. "We found bones of a person we suspect could be an illegal immigrant at Handy Farm near Musina, following a report from some farm employees, and we are now investigating so that we can establish the exact circumstances surrounding the mysterious death," he said.
Mushavhanamadi said they were also appealing to community members to assist police in locating the relatives of the deceased.
The remains of the deceased were taken to the local government mortuary for a postmortem.
Recently, another decomposing body of an unknown woman suspected to be a Zimbabwean border jumper was found lying at a bushy area along the Pontdrift gravel road, a few kilometers away from Elberveld Farm near Musina town.
