The atmosphere was filled with excitement for hundreds members of the Rastafarian family when reggae music artists fought for supremacy at Makwarela Town Hall on Friday night.
Dreadlocks flew like missiles while sweet reggae sounds were the order of the day until the wee hours of Saturday morning. Artists from as far as Mpumalanga and Gauteng shared the stage with their counterparts from Limpopo in what was dubbed as the historic Peace, Love and Harmony Concert.
Rastas and reggae music lovers forgot their troubles for the whole night while the rhythms were conquering the ideas of the days of slavery.
Female emerging reggae artist Jinnika impressed everyone with her performance, especially with her song Ngoho i yo no bvela khagala (the truth is out). Jinnika was on everyone’s lips because she is making a name for herself in the male-dominated reggae music sphere.
Kenny Murabi left his fans crying for more after hitting them with his song Vha kaidzeni. Like a true prophet in the land, his music continues carrying strong messages that made him the darling of his fans throughout the concert.
The show would have been incomplete without the much respected Jahman Chiganja who performed miracles while his fans never stopped dancing to the beat. His song, Ni songo mpfurela, baptized the fans with reggae musical fire that they will never forget. Shufflers Ragimana of the Ndi nga na nda fa fame kept everyone busy when he performed beyond his ability.
Show organizer Nndavheleseni Nemakanga thanked hundreds of people who supported the event. "The show was highly successful and we thank all the people who have put everything aside to come and support us."
