Several readers reacted during the past weeks to some of the news reports published in our paper.
Here are some of the responses by our readers.
Livhuwani Mugwagwa has the following to say about the article: Arsonists hit school:. "I received my secondary education at that school. I have got no doubt in my mind that the fire was caused by a person. A number of people from all over the Vhembe are making the school ungovernable. It is sad that the school, which serves the whole of Vhumbedzi with such distinction, can be sabotaged in this way. I wonder how much this is going to affect the school’s performance this year. Someone want the school to be less effective."
Aifheli Ndou said: "I read with disbelief what happed to Milton Mpfumedzeni Secondary School. I matriculated there in 1993. I would like to see justice done; the people should learn that a property like a school is theirs and shouldn’t try to sabotage it. If the fire was really started by someone, the police must get the culprit and show other villagers or people in the community that it is a wrong thing to destroy a school. To the learners I say ‘maybe some of your books were destroyed by the fire, but go ahead and prove to the culprit that you are stronger by passing your classes’".
Giga reacted to the article of the lady whose leg was bitten off by a crocodile: Granny says she wants to be buried with all her body parts. "Now the question still lies how many more crocodiles are out there? Are all the villagers safe from these vicious animals, or will the government improvise by bringing water and electricity closer?"
Musiiwa Thandabantu has the following to say about the article: School clerk faces criminal charges over missing funds "What you did is a big mistake, because you were working. Stealing never makes a person rich."
Musiiwa Thandabantu reacted to the report on the bravery of a police diver: He risk his life to save other people …"I think police stations must open more opportunities for community members who are willingly to work under police departments."
