A 23-year-old illegal Zimbabwean immigrant was stabbed to death in one of the taverns at Tshikwarani Ha-Kutama in the early hours of last Sunday morning.

According to police spokesperson for Vhembe in Limpopo Province Supt Ailwei Mushavhanamadi, the fatal stabbing ensued shortly after a heated argument between the deceased and the 26-year-old suspect. Mushavhanamadi said the two men were fighting about a girl. The incident happened at about 02:30. The victim collapsed and died on the spot.

"We arrested the suspect shortly after the incident and he will appear in the Tshilwavhusiku Magistrate´s Court on a charge of murder very soon, "he said.

In a separate incident, the lifeless body of an unknown man, believed to be in his 40s, was found in the industrial area of Louis Trichardt last Friday.

According to Capt Mashudu Malelo, the deceased was discovered by passers-by, who alerted the local police. "Presently, we don´t know the cause of the deceased´s death, but we´ve opened an inquest docket and we are continuing with our investigation," he said.

The police are appealing to members of the community to visit the local police station to assist them in identifying the unknown deceased.
