Help needed to identify body found in park

Police in Louis Trichardt appealed to members of the public to come forward with information that might help to identify the body of a white man found in the park near FireFly on Friday, June 1.

According to Capt Mashudu Malelo, regional spokesperson for the police in Thohoyandou, the man’s body was discovered by a pedestrian walking along Industria Street. Capt Malelo said the man is believed to be about 45 year old.

At this stage, the cause of death is still unclear, and, says Capt Malelo, the police are still investigating. He confirmed that the man’s fingerprints were taken in an attempt to have him identified through Home Affairs.

In the meantime, the man´s body is being kept at the state mortuary at the police station. Anyone who might be able to identify the man is asked to visit the police station.
