Stands at Musina reach R21 million at auction

News  Date: 15 June 2007

A turnover of more than R21 million was realised at an auction of ten stands in Musina.

The result of the auction was hailed as proof of unprecedented levels of business confidence which bode well for the future of the town.

At a very well-attended auction held at the municipal offices in Musina on June 6, ten business stands situated on both sides of the N1 at the southern entrance to Musina were auctioned by the well-known auctioneer, Mr Jack Klaff of Jack Klaff Auctioneers and Estate Agents.

The individual erven were first auctioned separately and thereafter put up for auction in two blocks of five stands each.

Several well-known businessmen from Musina, as well as from other towns in the Limpopo Province, who attended showed that there is presently a great demand for properties of this nature in Musina, as they enthusiastically took part in what can only be described as a hectic bidding process.

The prices realized for the individual stands were well in excess of the expectations of the seller, namely the Musina Town Council. These were, however, surpassed by the total amount raised when the two blocks of five stands each were auctioned jointly, resulting in a total turnover of R21 600 000. With regard to both blocks of erven, the successful bidder was the well-known astute businessman Mr Solly Noor of Solly Noor Properties of Louis Trichardt.

Klaff stated that the sale had by far exceeded his own expectations and commented further that he was pleased with the fact that the result of the auction proved that business confidence in the future of Musina was at unprecedented levels.
