The body of the man found in the park along Industria Street on Friday, June 1, has been identified.

According to Insp Ndwamato Vele, Louis Trichardt police spokesperson, said that the man’s body was positively identified by a family member. The deceased was the 43-year-old Mr Johannes Petrus Oelofse.

Despite rumours that the man was stabbed to death, Insp Vele said that the cause of death is still unknown. He added that a post-mortem was to be held on Wednesday to determine the cause of death. By the time of going to press, the results of the post-mortem were not known.
