The police in Giyani have launched a manhunt, following the death of a 35-year-old man, who was shot and killed on Tuesday morning. The incident took place at the Giyani bus rank at about 07:30.
According to the spokesperson for the police in the Mopani area, Supt Moatshe Ngoepe, the deceased, Cleopus Chauke (35), was waiting for a long-distance bus to Gauteng at the bus stop when an unknown man emerged from nowhere and opened fire on him at close range.
The gunman vanished after the incident. The search for the gunman was still on at the time of going to press. The police have appealed to anyone with information regarding the case to contact them at any police station or call them on 0860 010 111.
