People of Madobi and Makhasa are over the moon after welcoming a Score sport volunteer last Thursday afternoon. Tshepo Sithole from Northwest Province will spend the following year teaching and helping teens in different sporting codes at Timhelembe Sports Palace, based at Madobi.

Tshepo is the fifth Score volunteer and succeeds a Zambian, who was known as Evens, who also spent the whole year helping the two communities in sporting matters.

During the welcoming function which was held at Jaji Secondary School, the ward councilor, Mr George Ramashia, said Tshepo‘s arrival is a blessing to the ward as whole and promised the necessary support and help that he may need with a view to developing sports and the lives of the people, particularly the youth.

During the function, Mbangiseni Shikonwani, the secretary of ANC Youth League´s Ritavi Branch, appealed to the youth of the community to abstain from bad activities such as alcohol and drugs, and join sports in order to develop and unleash their potential.

Among the special guests were the Chief and his council, members of the home-based care, members of the community policing forum (CPF), and other structures of Madobi Community.

After the welcome that was held at the local school, all the excited people marched, playing drums and dancing while accompanying the young man to the chief’s place where he will be accommodated for the entire year.

Tshepo said he is prepared and ready to help young people to realize their potential and to train them in other areas such as leadership. He further indicated that he was going to work hard for the success of sports in the two communities.
