The Makhado Municipality has appointed one of Phalalaphala FM´s current affairs presenters, Mr Louis Bobodi, as its Public Relations Officer, with effect from October 1.

He was appointed in the position of assistant manager, liaison and communication of the municipality. Bobodi, who hails from Ha-Mashau, once worked for the now-defunct Thohoyandou Newspaper in 1990 as a political and sports reporter, but only for a short period.

In 1993, he joined Radio Thohoyandou as a journalist, but later in the same year he moved to the sports desk. When the former Radio Venda and Radio Thohoyandou were integrated to form Phalaphala FM, Bobodi joined the SABC regional station in 1997.

He also worked as a freelance sports journalist for the South African News Agency (SAPA), Time Newspaper and Sowetan until 1996.

He worked at Phalaphala FM’s current affairs programme, until he tendered his resignation last month.
