Newspaper is looking for this year’s best calendar photos

News  Date: 09 November 2007

For the third consecutive year, the Zoutpansberger and Limpopo Mirror will be hosting their very popular calendar photo competition.

Last year’s competition drew over 300 entries. This year, the region’s photographers are once again asked to enter photos that depict the Soutpansberg’s beauty and diversity.

"This is not a technical photographic competition. All we are looking for is a good picture you will not mind looking at while it hangs on your wall for a month," says Andries van Zyl from the Zoutpansberger.

Only high-resolution digital photo or high-quality colour A4 film prints will be accepted for the competition. Digital photos must be placed on CD. All entries can be handed in at the office of the Zoutpansberger at Joubert Street 16B in Louis Trichardt. The photographer’s name, contact details, a short description of where the photo was taken and, if possible, the camera, lens and camera settings with which the photo was taken, must accompany the entry.

Twelve winning entries, one for every month of the year, will be selected. An amount of R500 will be paid to the photographers for each one of the chosen photos. Entries close on November 30 this year.

For more information, phone Andries at Tel (015) 516 4997.
