MUKUMBANI – A huge crowd of people attended the ceremony at the Mukumbani Royal Kraal last Saturday, to celebrate the Order of Luthuli Award, that was recently awarded to a late Venda warrior, Mr Franz Rasimphi Tshivhase.
Mr Rasimphi posthumously received the Order of Luthuli Award from Pres Thabo Mbeki during a ceremony at the Union Buildings in Pretoria on June 16.
The Limpopo Premier Sello Moloto said that Rasimphi had contributed so much to the liberation struggle of the Venda tribe, and the time had come to reap the fruits of freedom. The Premier encouraged the youth to focus on their academic work, so that they could become good leaders of tomorrow in South Africa.
Labour Minister Membathisi Mdladlana said it was the time for all South Africans to build this country in a democratic way.
Mr David Sigidi from the Modjadji Royal Council said there was a future for the Tshivhase Royal Council and encourages the Vha-Venda to support their council.
