Believe it or not, Lubunyu is back! The latest unfortunate community member to come across this naked man who prowls during the night is Pastor Mmboswobeni Mankhili of the Wells of Revival Church.

The pastor said he came face-to-face with Lubunyu near Makonde Post Office at the weekend.

Pastor Mankhili said he was coming from a church meeting at about midnight, when a naked man suddenly appeared in front of him. "I could see in the moonlight that the man was really naked. I just hear people talking about Lubunyu, but I never thought I would ever come across him. I thought I was dreaming and I later realized that what I was seeing was reality. I went close to him and he covered his private parts with his hands. He then removed his hands from the private parts and quickly covered his face. Without saying a word, he ran towards the post office. I then tried to corner him, but he disappeared into thin air."

The pastor warns other community members to be very careful when they move around near Makonde Post Office at night. "Some people would not believe it but they will be convinced when they come across Lubunyu themselves. I have seen him with my own eyes and I now believe that he is there. It is something that you can’t believe when you hear about it but the reality is that Lubunyu is there and he is terrorizing people, let alone those who will come across him."

The terror that is Lubunyu is so serious that the issue was even raised at the Khoro of Makonde Jim Masindi. Community members gathered at the weekend to discuss ways in which they can get rid of the naked terror. The Vhakoma, Marcus Malume, said it was very disturbing to note that people were no longer free to move around at night. "We must find ways to stop this terror in our village. We must definitely catch him, so that our people may live in peace," he said.

Except Pastor Mankhili, many community members have claimed that they have also come face to face with Lubunyu. Another villager, Piet Netshilungwi, earlier said he came across Lubunyu when he was coming from work late at night. Lubunyu also terrorised a local educator, John Nethenzheni, last year. The naked man also filled some women who were undertaking a trip, waiting for their transport at Makonde Post Office, with terror.
