All five winners in the Vodacom League/Mirror SMS Competition, which was run in the paper two weeks ago, expressed their gratitude towards the organizers for the opportunity. The names of the winners were published in last week’s edition.
The first winner, Mr Partick Ndou of Maniini Village, said that he regarded himself as one of the luckiest people in the country when taking into account the fact that a large number of people entered for the competition. Ndou, an administration clerk at the Shayandima branch of NTK Roller Mills, revealed that it was not his first time to win a prize in a Vodacom-sponsored competition. He said that not so long ago he was one of the lucky winners of Vodacom airtime.
Another winner, Pattie Mulaudzi of Tshifulanani, village said that as an unemployed person he relied on the prizes he won in various competitions for a living. He revealed that he spends much of his time reading newspapers saying that one thing he has learnt in life is that one can still live a better life, even though the rate of unemployment is sky-high, if one associates himself with newspapers like the Limpopo Mirror.
Ms Mutali Tshitivha of Tshisaulu village said that when she won the kitchen utensils in the Sasko Score the Ball competition last year, she told herself that she was going to try her luck in every competition she came across. Mrs Elizabeth Ramuhala of Mamvuka village in the Nzhelele area said that she felt that it was a dream when she received a telephone call last Tuesday, informing her that she was one of the five winners.
Mrs Phophi Nepfumembe of Pfumbada village could not hide her joy over the phone during an interview with Mirror. She said that she sent only one SMS to enter in the competition. The five had each won Vodacom hampers which included cellular phones, starter packs and airtime.
