New Vhamusanda installed to lead at Lwamondo Mathule village

Members of the community and several traditional leaders from the Vhembe District gathered at Tshifulanani Stadium on 1 March to witness the installation of the new chief of Lwamondo Mathule village.

Vhamusanda Vho Thivhonali Mulaudzi was officially installed as chief in the presence of other traditional leaders, local politicians, and hundreds of community members from the surrounding areas.

Conducting the installation, Thovhele Vho Calvin Nelwamondo described the event as the beginning of a new chapter in the village's leadership. He praised the late father of the new chief for his dedication to the development of Mathule village and urged Mulaudzi to continue his father’s legacy.

“We want development in our area, and we have taken the lead by initiating community-driven projects. We hope you will build on these efforts, so that your people can fully benefit from democracy,” he said.

He called on the new leader to prioritise the needs of the poor and encouraged the community to offer their full support and respect to their chief. He also advised Vho Mulaudzi to work closely with the government to advance development initiatives.

Vhamusanda Vho Mulaudzi described the occasion as a significant milestone for his people and acknowledged the challenges ahead. He said his immediate priority would be to engage the relevant authorities to facilitate the village’s development.
