The police officials of the Tshilwavhusiku SAPS were awarded certificates for their loyal service in the South African Police Service in an event that was held at the station premises of Ravele Village of the Sinthumule area last Friday.
Officials were awarded medals and certificates for their 10 and 20 years of their loyal service with in the SAPS. According to the Station Commissioner, Supt Freddy Shirinda, the main objective of the ceremony which was held during the monthly station lecture, was to appreciate the service rendered by members of the police, in a way of honoring them with medals and certificates.
He also indicated that other officials who has put more efforts and do they work extra ordinarily was also appreciated. Asked what about the police performance in the station, he acknowledged that they are doing an excellent job, of which he is certified of. "We are not just giving them awards. Their work is also brilliant. I feel very proud of the police team in the station," Shirinda added.
The three police officers who had arrested a 25-year-old suspect that had allegedly raped and killed a 3-year-old girl on Christmas Day last year, were also honored. Apparently the arrest was made the very same day in which the crime was committed.
In this regard Station Commissioner, Shirinda appreciated the efforts done by the three police officials. "The recognition and receiving of medals goes hand in hand with responsibility and accountability," said Shirinda.
Insp David Nkanyane, who was one of the recipient of medals and 10 years of loyal service certificate, said in an interview with Mirror, that he felt very honored and motivated. He added that: "I feel that I must continue helping the community. I know that other people are not cooperative with us though we are trying to assist them, but we continue doing the good job."
