The Department of Public Works is in deep mourning and has sent condolences to the Tshikororo family, following the death of Mr Nkhangweleni Mudau Tshikororo a fortnight ago.

Family representative Ramaano Tshikororo said the family was saddened by his untimely death. He said the family was concerned about the number of deaths that had become a part of their daily lives. "Day in and day out, we are constantly faced with death. No weekend passes without our burying a family member," he said. One of the daughters of the family was recently shot and killed by an alleged jealous lover at school in Ngovhela village.

Nkhangweleni Tshikororo was born in 1961 at Miluwani and was the first-born child of Jack and Nyadzanga Tshikororo. He joined the Department of Public Works in 1990, the department he served with dedication till his death.

He is survived by his wife, eight children, two brothers and two sisters. He died last week after a short but unspecified illness. He was buried at Tshikororo royal cemetery at Muledane in accordance with their tradition.
