The damaged streets and challenges in the traffic department will soon be a thing of the past, says the MEC for Roads and Transport in Limpopo, Mr Justice Pitso, who visited the Makhado traffic department last Wednesday.
He visited the Makhado Municipality as part of the departmental imbizo that started on April 7. He depicted Makhado Municipality as a growing hub in terms of its economic potential. He added that Makhado is a very busy municipality, as it is a corridor and a gateway to the SADC regions.
"I understand the state of the roads in this town. People must also understand that we had been faced with a lot of backlogs. We are aware of the challenges and we will be able to address them," said Pitso.
He highlighted the challenges with regard to the infrastructure facilities, which he promised will soon be developed and also the increase in personnel in the traffic department in order to improve service delivery at the testing station.
He also visited the Makhado testing ground, where he promised that he would address the challenge of the sinking surface in the next financial year.
During the event, Mr Mbazima Sambo of Shigalo and Ratombo Farm Management expressed disappointment with regard to service in the licensing department, where he said the personnel do not furnish clients with the necessary information.
