Well-known police inspector passes away

A well-known policeman, D/Insp Thomas Mphaphuli (50), will be buried at the Madabani Cemetery on Saturday. He passed away last week after a short illness.

He joined the SAPS in 1981 and also served in the Venda Defence Force (VDF). After the VDF had disbanded, he joined the former TPA until 1986, when he returned to the SAPS. During his term, he received several awards, including an award for 20 years of faithful service and exemplary conduct in 2001.

At the time of his death, he was stationed at the Tshilwavhusiku Police Station. He served in the SAPS for 27 years.

He is survived by his wife.
