This comes after a team was delegated by the municipality to assess the stalls and come up with the recommendation for the best stalls in different categories. The best exhibitors were presented with trophies and certificates of appreciation.
Municipal spokesperson Wilson Dzebu says the motive behind the awards presentation is to encourage exhibitors to do their best at the annual show. Dzebu said the initiative is also aimed at encouraging other stakeholders to take part in the show. “We want to encourage our people to maximize their involvement in the activities of the show on an annual basis. We want people to understand that this show does not belong to the municipality. It belongs to the communities and we need to join hands to make sure that this annual show goes from strength to strength.”
Dzebu sang the praises of those who won the prizes. “To those who were not awarded still have an opportunity to impress the judges next year. They must never lose hope because opportunities are always there and they need to grasp them in both hands, whenever they appear.”
Some of the winners who were awarded include Premier Auto Louis Trichardt (Best Vehicle Display), South African Police Services (Best Departmental Stall) and Solomon Mersha (Best Arts and Crafts) and Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (Best Tourism Display).Correspondent journalists from all over the region supply us with news and sport articles.
