If you thought that a lady ever retires from enjoying a makeover, think again.
For long it has been hairstylist Connie de Sousa’s dream to sponsor ladies from Ons Tuiste Old Age Home for a complete makeover.
When Ms Kittie de Bruin, manager of Ons Tuiste, asked five volunteers, a few hands crept up shyly. However, when the five courageous ladies returned from their makeover on Monday, August 18 Ms de Bruin said there were oohs and ahs and everyone wished that they had put up their hands.
The ladies who participated in the makeover were Ms Bets Meyer (hair by Elmari Nel), Mary Coetser (hair by Connie de Sousa), Anna van der Walt (hair by Nolean Dercksen), Alet van der Merwe (hair by Sany McCabe) and Rina Volschenk (hair by Luanri Fick). Liezl Lemmer from Feminique Boutique supplied the outfits, Yolandé Olivier of Reflection did the photoshoot and Elsje of Salon Finesse was responsible for the make-up. Connie and the hairstyling team of C Jay’s found it remarkable how the ladies posed naturally and confidently for the camera.
“I was the last one to put up my hand to be one of the makeover candidates but in the end I enjoyed it the most,” said Ms MeyerLinda van der Westhuizen has been with Zoutnet since 2001. She has a heart for God, people and their stories. Linda believes that every person is unique and has a special story to tell. It follows logically that human interest stories is her speciality. Linda finds working with people and their leaders in the economic, educational, spiritual and political arena very rewarding. “I have a special interest in what God is doing in our town, province and nation and what He wants us to become,” says Linda.
