Louis Trichardt police are at present investigating a case of murder after the body of a Louis Trichardt resident was found with a gunshot wound under his right armpit.

According the local police spokesperson, Capt Maano Sadiki, the deceased was identified as the 43-year-old Mr Jonathan Mbulaheni, a school teacher from the Malamulele area. His body was discovered on Tuesday at about 18:30 next to the railway line along the Ledig Road.

Capt Sadiki said deceased was last seen driving around in a maroon Opel Corsa on Sunday. The possibility of hi-jacking is not ruled out. The Opel Corsa was later found abandoned at Madabani Village in the Tshilwavhusiku policing area.

Capt Sadiki urged members of the public who might be able to assist them in their investigation, to contact Detective Inspector Tshikotshi at any time at Tel 082 319 9638.

Following Tuesday’s murder case, local police have also opened an inquest docket after the badly decomposed body of a man was found hanging from a tree in the park opposite the information centre in Songozwi Street. The body was found by pedestrians of lunchtime Wednesday afternoon, after they went into the bush to relieve themselves. The name of the deceased will be made available as soon of his next of kin is informed.
