NZHELELE - Two pedestrians were killed last Saturday, when a vehicle smashed into them at Tshavhalovhedzi Village last Saturday.
According to Insp Ndidzulafhi Nelufule, Messrs Oriel Mawela (17) and Mashamba Madavha (25), both of Tshavhalovhedzi Village, were travelling along the Tshavhalovhedzi road, when the car knocked them down. Mr Mawela died at the scene of the accident and Mr Madavha died in the Siloam Hospital.
The police have opened a charge of driving under the influence of liquor and driving without a driver’s licence against the driver.
The accident shocked the MEC for Transport, Dr Tshenuwani Farisani, who sent a message of condolence message to the two families. Two weeks ago, the MEC launched Operation Juggernaut, aimed at preventing unnecessary accidents.
