MAKHADO – The mayor of the Makhado Municipality, Cllr Sarel Rhulani Nkuzana, said that Mr Peter Muleya, PRO of the municipality, who is no longer interacting with the media, is still an active PRO of the council.

Since early this year, all media-related issues are being handled by the Director Corporate Services, Mr Ntsieni Peter Magwala. The mayor, Cllr Sarel Rhulani Nkuzana, told Mirror that there is a distinction between a public relations officer and a spokesperson, and that Muleya is a PRO, who is very good at his work. When asked why Muleya was no longer responding to media inqueries, Nkuzana said that it depends on the query.

When contacted to reveal to the public why he was no longer interacting with members of the media like before, Muleya said that “I would first liase with the mayor and the municipal manager and then make my comment, but if I feel like not commenting, I will not avail myself for comment.”
