Serial robbers Marshal Nndakhulu Khangale (22) and Paul Luvhimbi “Seven” Manyaga (30) were made to pay for their crimes by the Thohoyandou High Court last Friday when Judge Godfrey Hetisani sentenced them to 52 years’ and 103 years’ imprisonment respectively.
Khangale, of Tshivhulani near Makwarela, and Manyaga, of Mbilwi, were found guilty on five counts of robbery and murder that they committed on February 22, 2007.
On the night of this date, the two used their unlicensed guns to rob money and cell phones from Abel Talifhani Takalani while he was busy serving customers at Tshapasha at Taki´s Eating House.
The two proceeded to Murengisazwothe Eating House at Tshiombo village, where they found Rudzani Mphephu and produced their guns and fired shots in the air. When Mphephu asked them what they were doing, Manyaga shot him and Mphephu died on the spot.
The two crooks then proceeded to Oscar Rudzani Sikhomu and Ndivhuwo Rudzani Ndou, who were sitting in their car that had had a breakdown, where they shot the two dead with the intention of robbing them of their car.
The killers also proceeded to the eating house, where they robbed money and liquor from Phusuphusu Rasimphi Kwinda, who was selling liquor with his wife, Nnditsheni Nematsharaga.
