At the Limpopo for Jesus gathering, many people made a commitment for Jesus Christ.

“It touched my heart to see so many first-time decisions for Jesus. It takes a lot of courage, you know,” Angus Buchan said at the press conference after the gathering at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday, March 28.

Farmer Angus Buchan preached with gusto and contagious enthusiasm. He presented the large gathering of approximately 10 000 with a clear choice, “Am I going to seek the Lord or am I going to sit on the fence?” He emphasised the urgent choice by using Bible passages in Deuteronomy 30 and Hosea 10:12.

Buchan encouraged men to take up their responsibility in their marriage and families.

“I’m sick and tired to hear about divorce,” Buchan said. For those who have divorced, he advised: “Repent and don’t do it again.”

He told the province and nation to stop rape and disrespect for life.

“The solution to the violence is to tell people about Jesus Christ … Our hope in this land is revival … God is in charge in South Africa … I’ll preach the gospel until this book is read in parliament every day,” were some of Buchan’s bold statements.

A recent letter from prisoner Thobile who met Jesus Christ was read out by Angus. It illustrated the straightforward message of repentance and becoming a new person in Christ. Thobile was an abused child who became a street kid and later spent the greater part of his life in jail. “When I look back, I ask myself who was that guy,” writes Thobile. He listens to Angus’ program Grassroots, which is on eTV on Saturdays and Sundays at 06:30. The whole assembly rejoiced when they heard the news that Angus had received a phone call from America to ask permission to telecast Grassroots on national television in the USA.

The DVD Faith like potatoes, with the story of the conversion of Angus Buchan as a young man living on his farm, Shalom, in Greytown, has now been released in the USA.

Buchan also encouraged men to attend the Mighty Men Conference from April 24 to 26 at Shalom where 200 000 men are expected and prepared for.

At the Limpopo meeting, a prayer of healing was done for the sick and a prayer of deliverance for those bound by addictions like alcohol, nicotine and pornography.

“The message by Angus Buchan was one of hope and encouragement. Hundreds of people responded to the call to salvation and committed their lives to Jesus Christ. This was the main purpose of the event – to touch lives for the Kingdom of God. It was such a blessing to see men and women from different backgrounds, cultures and churches coming together in unity to worship the Lord. It was an awesome day!” commented Pastor Brian Varry of Tzaneen, who headed up the organising team.
