TSHISAULU - While the whole nation is fighting child and women abuse, a father, aged 39, was arrested for raping his daughter (16) at Itsani village last Friday.
The Vhembe district police spokesperson, Capt Ailwei Mushavhanamadi, said that the suspect asked his daughter to accompany him to relatives at Itsani Village on Friday night. On his way, the father told his daughter that he wanted to show her that she was pregnant. He then undressed and raped her, Mushavhanamadi said.
Mushavhanamadi appealed to men not to rape and abuse their wives and daughters, and requested abused women to report the crimes to police. At the time of going to press, the suspect was still waiting to appear in court.
Kaizer Nengovhela started writing stories for Limpopo Mirror in 2000. Prior to that he had a five year stint at Phala-Phala FM as sports presenter. In 2005 Kaizer received an award from the province's premier as Best Sports Presenter. The same year he was also nominated as Best Sports Reporter by the Makhado Municipality. Kaizer was awarded the Mathatha Tsedu award in 2014.
