Former Ridgeway College student and two-time winner of the annual Ridgeway College Fashion Show Lloyd Loots recently had the opportunity to launch his very own fashion label “likeitloveitlloyd” in a spectacular way.

Lloyd, who is currently completing his BA degree in Fashion Design and Marketing, launched his very own fashion label by dressing television celebrity and voice of “Leizel’s Lounge” on 94.2 Jacaranda FM, Liezel van der Westhuizen, for the YOU SPECTACULAR Awards held at Emperor’s Palace.

The pageant was hosted in Johannesburg earlier this month. This glamorous affair played host to the who’s who of South African entertainment celebrities and sports personalities.

Liezel looked spectacular in the stunning olive green woven dress with interesting feather detail designed and made by Lloyd Loots. She is said to have stolen the show in this creation. Both Liezel and the label “likeitloveitlloyd” have received extensive media coverage in print and on television, with Liezel being lauded for taking a chance on fresh talent.

Lloyd, who is now earning himself the reputation as “designer to the stars,” also attended the event, which was an excellent marketing opportunity. He has been approached by a host of celebrities and designers, including Elana Africa and Gert-Johan Coetzee.
