Bishop Joshua Nemalili was ordained as new bishop of the First Revelation National Zion Church, during a ceremony at H-Tshikhudo in the Dzanani area a fortntnight ago.

Nemalili was ordained by Archbishop Elias Miriri of the United African Apostolic Church.

Miriri told Nemalili to be a good servant of God and not to discriminate against his followers. “As bishops we are just the followers of God. We do not own anyone. We pray to one God, no matter which church you attend,” he said.

Nemalili took over the church from his late father, Bishop Edward Tshifhumulo Nemalili, the founder of the First Revelation National Zion Church. The church was founded in 1956.

Community members from the surrounding villages flocked in numbers to witness the ordination of the new bishop.

Nemalili said during the ceremony that he thanked God for being with him during difficult times, in a journey to realize his father´s dream of his taking over as a leader of his church. “My father was a good man who loved the people. I feel greatly honoured to take my father´s duties forward,” said Nemalili.
