Inspector laid to rest

TSHIOZWI – Several members of the South African Police Services, led by the Vhembe Area Commissioner, Joseph Maepa, members of the community and family attended the funeral of the late Insp Tshimangadzo "Shimmy" Makatu, who passed away two weeks ago.

He was buried in the Tshiozwi cemetery on Saturday. Commissioner Maepa said Insp Makatu's death is a great loss to the Department of Safety and Security and the community as whole. He described Makatu as a brave policeman, who was loyal to the government and to his fellow man.

"Makatu was a responsible man, who was concerned about the safety of every South African Citizen," said Maepa. He appealed to the family members and relatives support each other. Maepa concluded by saying that the department will remember the good done by Insp Makatu.

Insp NP Davhana of South African Police Union expressed his condolences to the Makatu family and said the deceased had been a hard worker. His death was a great loss to the South African Police, the Union and community members as whole.
