Police round up numerous offenders

Police in Louis Trichardt have made a staggering total of 47 arrests over the past weekend in anticipation of the upcoming festive season.

Sixteen people were arrested for drinking in public and a further 20 for violating road and traffic regulations. One suspect was arrested when he failed to comply with a court order.

Another suspect was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and one for the possession of dagga.

Three suspects where rounded up for the theft of fencing and fire wood near the farm Palmietfontein, close to AFB Makhado.

Police have also warned residents to be on the alert when they go to the bank to withdraw money. Five suspects between the ages of 28 and 36 were arrested over the weekend for the theft of cash. The five are allegedly employees of a local bank, who stole money from unsuspecting clients when they withdrew money inside the bank.

All the suspects will be appearing in court.
