Passengers concerned about reckless taxi drivers

News  Date: 26 March 2004

MAKHADO - Passengers around Sinthumule/Kutama raised concerns last week, after they had discovered that many of the taxi drivers who are transporting them every day are driving without drivers' licenses.

Passengers found out when one of the taxi drivers crashed into a vehicle in Songozwi Street on March 13, after the driver had failed to stop when the traffic light turned red.

The passengers appealed to the owners to employed people who have drivers' licenses. "Many taxis that operate in our area do not have permits and some use one permit for three or more taxis," a passenger said.
