A full-scale poster war has erupted in Louis Trichardt.
Exactly a week after Makhado Municipal spokesperson Mr Louis Bobodi announced tough action against those who paste unauthorized posters on walls, poles, parking meters and traffic signs in town, the central business district and the area in the immediate vicinity of the municipal office complex has been plastered over with predominantly illicit abortion posters.
On a traffic sign nearest to the vehicle entrance for municipal officials, “legalised” abortions are offered glaringly. Even the tree trunks in the park right below the municipal office windows display an assortment of these posters.
The people who paste up the posters are obviously not intimidated by Bobodi’s warning. On the contrary, they seem to demonstrate their total contempt through their provocative action. The person who is supposed to remove these offensive posters is also obviously not making any headway.
Bobodi announced two weeks ago that stern measures would be taken against those who put up unauthorized posters and that a person would be tasked to remove these posters.
