Hollywood is waving for young Louis Trichardt superstar Larissa Venter (15).
The talented Larissa secured herself a place at the World Championships of Performing Arts in Los Angeles, California, after winning two gold, three silver and one bronze medal during the national championships for performing arts in Rustenburg from April 4 to 10.
She won gold for her solo singing in the world music category, as well as ‘n gold medal for modelling in the formal pageant wear on the ramp category. To top it all off, she was also announced the overall grand champion in the modelling category, bringing home a trophy.
“To win gold during the national championships is like getting your national colours,” said a very proud mom, Marina.
Apart from the two gold medals, Larissa also won two silver and one bronze medal for vocals, as well as a silver medal for photographic modelling.
“This is a big thing for a young girl from Louis Trichardt. Prior to the national championships, I told her not to expect too much and she totally surprised us all,” said Marina.
Larissa will form part of the South African team to compete at the World Championships of Performing Arts from July 17. This event is like the Olympics for arts, with 52 countries competing in this year’s championships. It also serves as a hunting ground for international talent scouts.
“It’s good to have Larissa as an ambassador for Louis Trichardt,” said Marina.
Qualifying for the prestigious international event was one thing, but getting there is another. Members of the South-African team have to foot their own bill with regard to flights and accommodation. Anyone who could therefore help Larissa to fulfil her full potential as a possible Hollywood star of tomorrow is urged to contact Marina at 079 514 9118 for more details.
