One person died after a small truck travelling towards Louis Trichardt on the N1-north lost control just past the Witvlag turn-off and collided with a Bantam bakkie travelling in the same direction on Wednesday.

After the initial collsion, both the vehicles skidded across the road and crashed into a ZZ2 truck that was travelling in the opposite direction, tearing a massive hole in the truck´s diesel tank. The driver of the smaller truck died instantly when the impact of the crash severed his head from his body.

At the time of going to press, an unknown number of passengers were taken to Louis Trichardt Memorial Hospital for further medical treatment. The road had to be closed for traffic traveling in both directions for several hours, due to fuel on the road that had to be cleaned up.
