The community of Musina will pride itself on a new development along the N1 on the way to the border. The area will be known as Musina Extension 27 and it consists of 28 industrial stands, varying in size from 2257m² to 17061m².
At present, the municipality is installing basic services, which include water, sewerage, electricity, roads and storm water drains. A public auction for the sale of the stands will be held on 28 July 2010 at 11:00 at the Municipal Civic Centre in Irwin Street, Musina.
Mayor Caroline Mahasela says the new development will offer local government, the private sector, the non-profit sectors and the local community the opportunity to work together to improve the local economy. “It aims to enhance competitiveness and thus encourage sustainable growth that is inclusive. Its major contribution is to build up the economic capacity of Musina to improve its economic future and the quality of life for all.”
Mahasela added that the development will have many economic benefits for the people of Musina. “Besides being convenient for local residents, it will provide much-needed jobs, particularly for previously unemployed people. The onus is on us to support and protect this establishment," she added.
