As a result of the fact that the Bandelierkop SAPS has now moved to the newly built police station in Botlokwa, called the Botlokwa SAPS, the Makhado police have taken over the Bandelierkop police station. The police station is now a satellite police station for the Makhado SAPS.
This follows the official opening of the new Botlokwa police station by the Minister of Police, Mr Nathi Mthethwa, a fortnight ago. The Makhado police´s area of operation has now been extended to the Tropic of Capricorn and borders the Moribeng and Mogwadi areas.
A dedicated police woman from the Makhado SAPS, W/O Peggy Baloyi, has been appointed as the new station commander for the satellite police station at Bandelierkop.
Baloyi (41) follows in the footstep of Lt-Colonel Thukhutha, who is now the station commander for the newly opened Botlokwa SAPS.
Baloyi, who worked at various police stations such as Waterval, Morebeng, Makhado and Sekgosese before coming back to Makhado, says she is committed to winning the war against crime in the area. "I encourage teamwork among all members under my supervision and in that manner service delivery has to be maintained," she said.
She appealed to members of the Bandelierkop community to continue to work closely with the police in the war against crime.
