Zimbabwean stabbed to death for R50

The Waterval police are investigating a case of murder after a 24-year-old Zimbabwean was stabbed to death following an alleged argument over a R50.

According to the police report, two Zimbabweans were walking down the street at Makhongele Section at Elim on Sunday, when an argument started over a R50 note. "While the two were walking down the street, they started fighting over a R50 note. It is suspected that one then stabbed the deceased in the chest and he died instantly," said W/O Risimati Masonto, spokesperson for the Waterval police.

According to Masonto, the incident occurred at 08:00 in the morning.

The suspect is still at large. Masonto said that the police had already received information that might lead to the arrest of the suspect. "With the information we got from members of the community, we are quite sure that the suspect will soon be arrested and be put behind bars."

Masonto urged community members to continue working closely with the police in the fight against crime.
