SILOAM - "Hard work pays off," said a young student nurse at Siloam Hospital, who received a gift from the hospital staff, following her commitment to her job last Thursday.
Miss Thifhelimbilu Lavhengwa is a young nursing student, whose hard work is appreciated by the hospital staff.
She works in the baby caring ward, where she observes the patients and checks the body temperature of the babies.
According to the community liaison officer of Siloam Hospital, Mr Rogers Tshivhase, the young nurses are abiding themselves by the Batho Pele principles.
Sister Pauline Pandeka, supervisor of the young nurse, told Mirror that Thifhelimbilu gives quality care to the babies and she deserves an award.
She was chosen among the 18 nurses in the paediatric ward, as part of a campaign "to wipe out the stigma that nurses have evil hearts."
After awarding the best nursing student, the hospital held a farewell function for a professional nurse, Mrs Mashudu Bereda Mulaudzi, who is going to join the University of Venda for Science and Technology.
According to Tshivhase, Mrs Mukwevho has supervised many nurses in the Siloam Hospital and Elim Hospital. "Her departure is a loss to us and the community of Nzhelele," said Tshivhase.
