Members of the Tshitale community are still shocked about the brutal murder of a well-known Vleifontein taxi boss. Mr William Ratshitanga (59) was shot and killed by an unknown gunman at his Vleifontein home last Thursday night.
According to the police, Ratshitanga had just came back home when he was shot.
"It is alleged that Mr Ratshitanga had just accompanied a friend when an unknown gunman came out of nowhere and shot him," said the spokesperson for the Makhado Police, Capt Maano Sadike. He said that it was not known whether the assailant had been following him. Sadike added that deceased was shot outside his house. A case of murder has been opened with the police.
"Investigations continue and no one has been arrested yet," said Sadike.
Sadike appealed to members of the community to furnish the police with information that can lead to the arrest of the suspect. Ratshitanga was a member of the Tshitale Taxi Association.
The police are advising anyone with information to call Captain Manyatsha of the Makhado SAPS at 082 319 9638 or Colonel Mabotja of the provincial task team at 082 451 7176.
