News  Date: 25 March 2011

The case of four Zimbabwean ritual murder suspects, who were arrested last week in Musina for allegedly brutally stabbing a fellow countryman before mutilating his body, was further postponed on Tuesday to next week for further investigations.

The four men are reportedly linked to an organized syndicate involved in selling body parts.

The suspects, Innocent Muvembi (26), Johannes Chikukuta (31), Ngonidzashe Mapfumo (22) and Blessing Hove (17) from Beit Bridge appeared in the Musina Magistrate´s Court, facing a murder charge. The case was postponed to 31 March, pending further investigations, and the accused persons remain in custody.

The court heard that on 11 March, Mr Munyaradzi Mtetwa´s body was found hanging from a tree in the bush near Matombo Lodge, a few kilometres outside Musina, by a passerby, who reported the matter to the police. The victim´s clothes were soaked in blood, indicating that he had been stabbed in the chest with a knife. The body had missing private parts and eyes.
