A poor woman, who used to stay alone in an RDP house at Tshivhiludulu Village in the Nzhelele area, was killed in cold blood last Thursday.
Ms Tshinakaho Netshivhiludulu (54) was sleeping in her house when an unknown man broke in and killed her for no good reason. She was strangled and stabbed in the head with a sharp object. This came as a shock to members of the community, who depicted Netshivhiludulu as a good resident, who never quarreled with anyone in the village.
Her lifeless body was discovered by a neighbour who went to the house to investigate, since she didn´t see her in the morning. "She used to wake up very early and we could see that she is awake. On Thursday, it was different, because we couldn´t see her moving around. We went there to check, only to find that she was dead," said the neighbours.
The spokesperson for the Siloam police, WO Itani Muila, confirmed the incident. "We have opened a case of murder and investigations are still continuing. Hopefully, the culprit will be found and put behind bars," said Muila.
The chief of Tshivhilidulu, Musanda Vho-Mbulaheni Netshivhilidulu, said he was greatly disturbed about the incident. "I don´t know really what is happening in my village. This is not the first incident of this nature to happen in this village. Why our village? What have we done to deserve this? This is very heart breaking," he said.
Musanda Vho-Netshivhiludulu, who is also a brother of the deceased, added that church organizations must come together and pray for his village. He urged community members to be united and work together to fight crime and help the police in solving the matter.
Nethsivhilidulu will be laid to rest at the Tshivhiludulu cemetery tonight (Friday).
