MAKHADO (LOUIS TRICARDT) – The town's third Christ Festival will be hosted on Saturday, March 13.

The first Christ Festival was held by the inter-denominational Cross Committee in 2002 when the lights of cross to the north east of town was switched on for the first time.

This year's festival will start at 14:00 with a Christ march from the library gardens to Leeupark, the cricket field of Louis Trichardt High School, where the programme will run from 14:30 till 18:00.

Praise and worship led by prominent gospel singers Danie Botha and Piet Smit will be followed by a time of prayer where relevant issues will be brought before God. Karen and Anel will attend to young children with their puppets, song and dance. Danie and Piet will minister in song until 18:00. Food and refreshments will be on sale continuously.

The well-known youth group Innervison will take the stage in the school hall at 19:00. There will be a competition with prizes for the best banner carried in the march as well as for the best banner made by a youth group. The banners may be along the theme Jesus, the centre.

The small white cross to pin on is again on sale for R5 at Kirstens. A new version to hang around the neck is now also available at R10. On Sunday, 14 March, at 09:00 an open-air church service will be held at the same field with Piet Smit leading the worship.
