The ever-increasing number of accidents at Tsia-Mutsha has prompted the community to seek divine intervention.
Since last year, at least 15 people have lost their lives on the busy road that runs through the two villages. The deaths have left many families without breadwinners and with unbearable pain and suffering to the closely knit community.
Realizing there was no end to the carnage, a prayer meeting attended by pastors from different denominations, traffic officials, the royal family and members of the community in the two villages was held at the Gwamasenga sports field on Saturday.
The meeting, an initiative of the Tsianda Pastors Forum under the leadership of Pastor Prince Ramahala of the Tsianda Full Gospel Church, targeted spots where accidents are most common. Pastors and members of the community took turns in praying for an end to the carnage.
Ramahala said they had tried everything in the book to stop the mayhem on the roads, but had failed. ´"We have witnessed many of our people being killed on this road. We have approached the relevant stakeholders, but we felt that we should report this to the Most High, who sees everything in this world. He will help us in stopping this carnage,” he said.
"There is nothing that beats the power of prayer. We can do all as human beings, but without the help from above, we will never succeed. Accidents will continue happening; we need divine intervention," he said.
