NZHELELE - The Read Education Trust, popularly known as Read, donated hundreds of literature books to the Tshikombani Primary School last Thursday.

According to the organisation's national manager, Mrs Cynthia Hinsu, the books were donated to tighten the partnership between Read and the Department of Education in the Limpopo province. "These books have been distributed to seven regions for a literacy programme and it has a special curriculum that works hand in hand with ABET," she said.

She stated that Read specialises in both skills and development. According to Mrs Hinsu, skills are acquired through practice and learners should have the freedom of mind in order to achieve their goals.

Hinsu add that Read has distributed books to the Zoutpansberg District of the Department of Education as a gift.

The District Co-coordinator of the Zoutpansberg District, Mr Johannes Ramuedzisi, nominated Tshikombani Primary as the school that deserves getting books from Read, adding that this would boost their curriculum. Ramuedzisi encourages the learners to study hard, as they have received the books that are in line with the curriculum and suitable for ABET.

He encouraged the community of Tshikombani to add some books from their own resources, in order to create better education for their children.

According to Ramuedzisi, the Read Project has distributed books to twenty-eight schools, and its partnership with the Department of Education started in 2000.

Three Schools from the Musina municipality have already received books from the Read Project.
